About Heath
Born in Sheffield and raised in Rotherham, Heath left home at 18 to join the Royal Navy as a helicopter engineer — trading quiet streets for high-pressure hangars. After 30 years on the south coast, he returned to South Yorkshire in 2022.
His winding career path — across sectors, systems, and the stories most people miss — brings raw authenticity to his crime fiction. Heath writes flawed characters, hard choices, and tension that doesn’t let up.
From 2007 to 2024, he also fronted rock covers band Rapid Tranq — a different kind of adrenaline, but just as real.
His debut Prisoner (2019) launched the DI Baxter series, followed by the gangland thriller Khan (2020), No Remorse (2021), and Khan: Retribution (2025). Whether it’s a cop under pressure or a gangster on the edge, Heath writes crime that hits hard and stays with you.
